5 Fashion Editors Share the Shoes they will be Wearing to Fashion Week

By: Caroline Vazzana

Tomorrow marks the first official day of New York Fashion Week, aka Fashion Month. But aside from the glitz and glam that one might expect, most of the week is actually spent running around the city to and from shows, and more often then not, sitting in traffic. Especially for fashion editors, who are actually reporting on the shows and bringing you live coverage, their schedules are packed to the brim with back-to-back shows and behind-the-scenes interviews. So, in preparation for this oh so busy week, we spoke to a few of our favorite badass fashion editors to ask them what shoes they'll be wearing to run around the city this season. Read below for their go-to options and make sure to follow them for the BEST fashion week coverage!

"I'm not going to pretend that I can wear heels for all of fashion week. (Or any of it, for that matter.) Last season, I wore a pair of black velvet slippers to a lot of the shows and this time around I like Brother Vellies wicker slides. The cognac color will match a lot of my black and blue clothes--and most importantly, they look comfy."

"With so many fashion peacocks flocking to NYFW, less can be more in the game of style. I opt for monochrome separates paired with a subtle shoe that ties everything together. These leather and lucite mules from The Row are sophisticated with just enough interest."

"The first thing I consider when putting together my NYFW outfits is comfort. I often don't have the luxury of car service so I heavily take into account weather, distances between shows, subway delays, and all of the other non-glamorous attributes of fashion week. While sneakers are already a part of my every day style, NYFW gives me the chance to play with sneakers that are a little more out there. I loved this Charlotte Simone x Superga collab and this faux furry mule is at the top of my styling list."

"I've had my eye on these Marques' Almeida mules for a while now. They're the perfect mix of retro and modern, the fabric reminds me of a lava lamp (how's that for a throwback). Plus, the block heel guarantees they'll be comfortable for days where I'm frantically trying to make it from show to show. Plus, since my usual uniform is jeans and a tee, these shoes make it easy to make such simple pieces feel more purposeful."

"I already love wearing sparkly shoes. These are not only made from the most magical rainbow glitter fabric (the brand's signature "Scintillate") and are designed in a beautiful, easy-to-wear silhouette, but they were named for me by SJP herself. It's still completely surreal to say that, but it's an honor that will carry me through fashion month and, well, forever."
